My husband and I are both unemployed and I need to go back to school so I can get a better job. I have a college degree but it is out of date and I have been out of the industry for 4 years now and cannot find any jobs with the skills that I have.
We have 2 young children and cannot afford, not do we want to, put them in daycare just so we can work a minimum wage job.
Our car is in need of tires, shocks/struts and an alignment, it is becoming more and more dangerous to drive because it won't track correctly.
In order for us to survive while I go back to school one of us will have to have a parttime job and that will not even cover the basic bills of rent, phone, internet and food. We also have past due student loan payments as well as medical bills, unpaid state taxes and a parking ticket.
We have moved into a small two bedroom apartment just to get a lower rent payment and now we are having to store abunch of our stuff until we can sell it off, that amounts to another bill that we cannot afford to pay on a minimum wage job.
I need to go back to school and update my bachelors degree in computer programming so that we can dig out of this whole BUT I cannot do that without the help of some grant money. There is just no way that we would be able to pay back another loan after I get out of school.
